Website and other stuff

I realize I haven't posted much in the last week... I've worked a little on getting a website up and running [here]. It's still pretty simple and rough, but I had to get that rolling. It showed me that I don't have nearly enough art to actually put a portfolio together (that I'd be satisfied with). Consider that gallery temporary if you take a look. Also, any crits on web design would be good to hear... I know there is a small design glitch in IE - it doesn't kill the site but doesn't look quite how I want it to.

Aside from that, I decided to read The Fellowship of the Ring finally - awesome! I can't wait to read the other 2 if I feel like I have the time...

Next, I did a little drawing today. I'll probably enter some small mini comp on Gameartisans. The topic is pretty wide open 'strangers in a strange land'...

nice work kyle! the website looks great (made in flash?). the only thing that needs work is the fonts. As a former graphic design student typography is really really really important. i cant name a few fonts that would work off the top of my head, but if you have time, read a little about typography and design. Or look at graphic design sites or PRINT magazine.

big ups yo!

btw what company do you use to host your site? i've been looking around and dont know where to start.

Thanks Joe :D The website was actually just coded in HTML but the gallery is a free script called Simple Viewer. It's super easy to use, and has a plug in that works inside photoshop to batch create thumbnails and resize your whole portfolio at the push of a button.

I'll look into fonts some more, but if you can name one that might work better I'd REALLY appreciate it!

As for hosting, my friend Danny actually hosts for me, So I can't really offer too much advice on where to go with that. Maybe he can chime in on here sometime.

I hope things are going great man, it's good to hear from you.
